A Delhi court ruled today the Batla House encounter case was genuine and the sole man arrested is guilty of murdering Inspector MC Sharma in the capital in 2008.
MC Sharma led a police team and stormed the Batla House apartment building in Delhi in 2008 to capture alleged terrorists.
The opposition party of the country BJP also echoed the verdict proves the encounter was genuine as well as the family of killed inspector too believes same.
The then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said today he was glad and happy to hear that Delhi Police has proved the encounter was not a fake one.
On a television channel he added the case was one of the first that was brought to his notice as Union Home Minister then and he felt the gunfight between Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists and police was genuine.
Chidambaram said further he had personally talked to the investigators, read papers and went through the evidences and found everything was satisfactory that was needed for being a genuine encounter, but unfortunately the country has lost a brave police officer and some of the suspects have escaped.
